Playtime: 72h.
After having loved the crap out of the original Hollow Knight, Silksong was all I was hoping for. But just that.
Don’t get me wrong, it is a great game. Beautiful, plays like a dream, but very predictable.
It’s been so long that I guess I’ll have to give the first one a go again so I can more clearly tell them apart.
I think both games’ combat system feel very similar, with an extra dash of acrobatics for the latest entry - specially since I mostly used the Wanderer Crest, and down-slashed my way in every fight I could ge away with that!
The soundtrack by Christopher Larkin is amazing. Yet another easy purchase on Bandcamp.
The level design felt a bit same-y, with the expected biomes and so, but boy-oh-boy, does it look gorgeous! The detailed artwork and masterfully crafter parallax effects made me think the world was a full 3d one.
I don’t regret any of the hours I’ve put into 100%-ing it and am looking forward to the DLC(s?) to come!
